Last Titanic survivor's ashes scattered at port
Briton was 9 weeks old on voyage; died last May
at age 97
LONDON - The ashes of the last Titanic
survivor have been scattered at the English port where the
ship began its ill-fated maiden voyage in 1912.
At 11.40 p.m. on April 14th, as
passengers and crew were getting into bed after an evening's
revelling, the Titanic tragically hit an iceberg in the
North Atlantic Ocean, just off the coast of Newfoundland and
sank two and a half hours later.
Dean, who was 9 weeks old when her parents took her aboard
the ship, died May 31 at age 97.
Her ashes were scatted on Saturday by
her partner, Bruno Nordmanis, on the water at Southampton
Docks in southern England.
About 150 people including members of the British
Titanic Society and friends of Dean gathered for the ceremony. David Hill, of
the British Titanic Society, said Dean "was a lovely lady, and anyone who met
her would say exactly the same."

High tide - late in the evening People fly by in the traffic's boom Knowing
- just what you're knowing Getting to where you should be going.
them get you down Making you feel happy about Black rain will bring you
sadness All the good things - you deserve now.
Climbing always climbing Find your way out - of the wild wild wood Now there's no
justice There's only your friends - that you can believe in
And I said -
early in the morning People pass by in the hazy gloom Knowing -
just where you're blowing
Getting to where you should be going.
Year by year your hope fades away Waiting to feel - all the dreams that
say Old pain will bring you riches All the good things - you
deserve now - and I say Searching always searching You're gonna find your way out - of
the wild wild wood
Said you're gonna find your way out... of the wild wild wood
